The 2.6 liter diesel engine has been given in the new Force Gurkha BS6 SUV. This engine generates power of 89 bhp and torque of 250 Nm between 1400 rpm to 2400 rpm. This engine is mated to a 5-speed Mercedes G-28 gearbox with hydraulically actuated clutch and cable shift. This engine comes with AWD (all-wheel-drive) system and low-range transfer case with front and rear locking differentials.

Both petrol and diesel options are available in the new generation Thar. The petrol engine is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo-petrol, which is capable of producing 152hp and 300Nm of torque. At the same time, it generates 320 Nm with an automatic gearbox. The diesel engine comes with a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder, turbocharged unit that makes 132Hp and 300Nm. The company claims that it gets a top speed of 165 kmph. It has a 57-litre fuel tank and a ground clearance of 226mm.

Features of Mahindra Thar
Talking about its features, a touchscreen infotainment system has been given in Thar. It supports Android Auto and Apple Car Play. It has roof mounted speakers for better sound quality. It also gets features like MID unit, steering mounted controls, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, traction control. For safety, 2 airbags have been provided in Thar.
How much is the price?
Coming to the price of Mahindra Thar compared to 2021 Force Gurkha, it starts at Rs 13,17,779 (ex-showroom) while the top-spec LX 4-seater hard-top diesel automatic variant costs Rs 15.08 lakh ex-showroom. .
