Rajasthan: 50 percent discount on fare for women in all Rajasthan Roadways buses, CM Gehlot approves

Women passengers will now have to pay half the fare in all classes of Rajasthan Roadways buses. The state government has decided to give them 50 per cent concession in fare in all roadways buses. The spokesperson of the state government gave this information on Thursday.

The Gehlot government has increased the scope of concession for women traveling in roadways buses. Now women/girls will be given 50 percent concession on traveling in all categories of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation buses within the state limits. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved the proposal in this regard.

As per the proposal, women/girls will be charged half the fare for traveling in all classes of Rajasthan State Road Transport Corporation buses. Presently women/girls were being given 50 per cent concession for traveling in ordinary class buses only.

It is noteworthy that in the budget 2023-24, the Chief Minister had announced to increase the concession in fare given to women for traveling in ordinary roadways buses from 30 to 50 percent. This announcement was also implemented from April 1, 2023. Thereafter, on May 25, 2023, at the inauguration ceremony of the new bus terminal at Sindhi Camp, Jaipur, Gehlot had announced to implement this concession in all categories of roadways buses. This approval has been given in implementation of the Chief Minister’s announcement.

Gym will be installed in government colleges

Apart from this, open gyms will be established in 401 government colleges of the state. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has approved a financial provision of Rs 18.04 crore for this. As per the proposal, an amount of Rs 4.50 lakh will be spent per college on the establishment of open gym. Open gyms will also be established in new colleges opened in session 2023-24.

The Chief Minister has given this approval in the sequence of the announcement made in the budget year 2023-24. With this approval of Gehlot, the facility of open gym will be available in government colleges. With this, the physical and mental development of the students will be better.
