Talkaaz News:- Solar panels will be installed on the roof of your house for free. This scheme is of the Government of India. The government has launched a scheme named “Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana”, under which farmers and domestic consumers in both rural and urban areas will be given the facility to install solar panels free of cost.

Under this scheme, the government will provide 60% subsidy on the cost of solar panels to farmers and domestic consumers. The remaining 40% cost will have to be borne by the farmer or the domestic consumer himself.

What is PM Kusum Yojana?

Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana has been started by the Central Government. Under this scheme, farmers have been given the facility of solar panels for irrigation. Under this scheme, 90 percent of the total cost of installing solar pumps will be borne by the government.

The remaining 10 percent cost will be paid by the farmers themselves. Solar pump will become a source of income for farmers. The electricity generated from solar panels can be used for irrigation and the excess electricity can be sold to power distribution companies (DISCOMs).

Free Solar Panel Yojana has been started for the welfare of the farmers of the country. Under which solar plants of 3, 4, 5 KW will be installed in the fields.

Under this scheme, farmers and domestic consumers can install solar panels of 3 kilowatt, 5 kilowatt, 10 kilowatt and 25 kilowatt.

The cost of a 3 kilowatt solar panel is approximately Rs 1.5 lakh. The government will give a subsidy of Rs 90,000 towards its cost. Farmers or domestic consumers will have to bear the cost of Rs 60,000 themselves.

The cost of a 5 kilowatt solar panel is approximately Rs 2.5 lakh. The government will give a subsidy of Rs 1.5 lakh towards its cost. Farmers or domestic consumers will have to bear the cost of Rs 1 lakh themselves.

The cost of a 10 kilowatt solar panel is approximately Rs 5 lakh. The government will give a subsidy of Rs 3 lakh towards its cost. Farmers or domestic consumers will have to bear the cost of Rs 2 lakh themselves.

The cost of a 25 kilowatt solar panel is approximately Rs 12.5 lakh. The government will give a subsidy of Rs 7.5 lakh towards its cost. Farmers or domestic consumers will have to bear the cost of Rs 5 lakh themselves.

Under this scheme, farmers and domestic consumers can save 30 to 40% in their domestic electricity bills. To apply for this scheme, farmers and domestic consumers have to apply by visiting the website of the Department of New and Renewable Energy of their state.
