If the waiting line at the toll plaza is so long, then the train will pass in Free!
The high prices of petrol and diesel have made people like that. But this news is very relief for the drivers. According to the new guidelines of the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), if your car is in the waiting line at the toll plaza and the trains up to a certain distance will be passed free from the booth.
The new guideline of NHAI says that if there is a waiting line of trains at the toll plaza, then the trains standing up to 100 meters away from the booth will be passed at no charge. This work will be done till the waiting line is within 100 meters
NHAI has made these changes in the rules to reduce the waiting time at toll booths and to pass through the traffic easily. To limit waiting to 100 meters at the toll booth, a yellow line will be drawn at 100 meters from the booth in each lane. If the waiting line crosses this line, the trains standing ahead will be allowed to pass free from the booth so that Waiting lines remain within this mark.
Fastag has become mandatory from February this year to travel on the highway in the country. At most toll plazas in the country, 96% collection is now done through Fastag, while in some areas it is up to 99%. In such a situation, when the vehicles waiting at a distance of up to 100 meters will be passed from the toll booths for free, then no amount will be deducted from their Fastag. With this, NHAI has also fixed the limit of how long it should take for a car to cross the toll booth.
Not only this, to speed up the traffic movement at the toll plaza, NHAI has made a rule that every train at the toll booth has to be passed in just 10 seconds. Fastag has been done on most of the vehicles in the country, in spite of that it takes more time to pass the toll booths in many places and waiting lines are also visible. To eliminate this, NHAI has made this rule. The toll booth operator will also have to follow the 10-second deadline in peak hours.
