digi-locker will be valid
According to the notice issued by the Transport Department of Delhi Government, driving license and vehicle registration certificate kept in digital format on Digi-Locker platform or m-Parivahan mobile app are valid documents under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The department said that these are legally valid as per the certificates issued by the Transport Department. He clarified that soft copy of driving license and registration certificate in any other form will not be accepted as original record.
What is DigiLocker
DigiLocker is one such way under which you can save and keep documents like your driving license and vehicle registration certificate safe. It has been launched by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. Actually this DigiLocker is linked to your Aadhar card and phone number. In this, you can save a scanned copy of your documents by uploading them in PDF, JPEG or PNG format. The most important thing is that you can also e-sign these documents. It works exactly like a self-attached physical document.
What is the process of securing in the app
If you want to keep your vehicle documents safe in Digilocker app, then the process which is followed for this is very easy, which we are going to tell you step by step.
Know the complete process of use
1. For this, you must first go to DigiLocker’s website. Then download DigiLocker app on your smartphone.
2. Now you create your user ID from your Aadhar card or mobile number. Now an OTP will also be sent to your number.
3. After the app is opened, you will see the option of Get Started, tap on it.
4. Then tap on Create Account. After this you will be asked to enter your name, date of birth, mobile number, security pin, email ID and Aadhaar number.
5. After doing all this, an OTP will come on your registered mobile number. Submit this OTP in the app.
6. You will then be asked to create a username. Here you can create any username you want. Then tap on OK at the bottom. Your account will be created.
7. Now DigiLocker’s interface will open in front of you. Then click on any document you want to save here.
8. After this a pop-up will appear in front of you in which you will be asked for your permission. Please OK on this.
9. After OK, you will get OTP once again, enter it. Then tap on Continue.
10. After this you will be able to see that your Aadhar card has been saved in your Issued Documents.
11. In the same way, you will be able to save your PAN card, LIC, driving license, school certificates etc. here.
12. You will also be able to share these documents. These will go to the sender in PDF format.
