Breast cancer treatment: Tata Memorial Hospital has researched economical and effective injections. To see the effect of this injection, about 1600 women aged between 30 years and 70 years were studied.

The cases of breast cancer are increasing continuously around the world. Most cases of this cancer come in women. Breast cancer also causes death. To save women from this cancer, Tata Memorial Hospital has researched economical and effective injections. Due to which it is helping in the prevention of breast cancer in women. Breast cancer cells will go numb with a single dose of this injection. This will prevent the spread of these cells to other parts of the body.

The good thing is that the cost of one dose of this injection is only 30 to 40 rupees. It is being seen as a boon towards the treatment of breast cancer patients. Let us tell you that in the year 2011, Tata Memorial Hospital started a new study on the treatment of breast cancer patients. The study was conducted under the title ‘Effect of peri-tumoral infiltration of local anesthetic prior to surgery on survival in early breast cancer’. In this study, 11 cancer centers of the country were involved, in which there was also a team of 20 doctors. 10 doctors from Tata Memorial Hospital Mumbai alone were doing this research.

Study was going on for 11 years

Neeta Nair, a member of the research, told that the study went on for about 11 years on this treatment system. About 1600 women in the age group of 30 to 70 years were selected for the study. 800 women were selected for breast cancer surgery, then the same 800 women were given continuous injection surgery. These women were regularly followed up. In the 6th year, 30 percent of patients saw improvement with the injections used. This shows how beneficial this injection is in the prevention of breast cancer.

Breast cancer cases are increasing in the country

According to the WHO, between 2010-2019, cancer cases in India have increased by about two percent every year. If we look at the figures, in the year 2020, the total number of cancer patients in the country is said to be around 14 lakh. Breast cancer is one of the fastest growing cancers among all cancers. Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women. This cancer is increasing in urban areas as compared to rural areas. Lack of knowledge of symptoms is a major reason for increasing cases.

Cases of breast cancer are seen more in women with alcohol consumption, obesity, family history and poor lifestyle. It is treated through chemotherapy. In severe cases, surgery is the last option.
